Overstayed in USA. Legal immigration age?
Well i moved to LA at 13. i stayed until 20. Now the thing is, my visa (L2-visa) expired when i was 16/17. So i overstayed until 20 (almost 21)
My brother also overstayed until before he was 18, went to thailand, and managed to get another visa back to LA. I haven’t applied yet, thinking i may get rejected, but a lawyer in Thailand told me that immigrations laws in the US state that as long as i left the country under 21, then i am able to reenter the US. I am now 24, so it’s been 3-4 years and was wondering if the lawyer was right or not.
If it’s before 18, then i guess i won’t be entering anymore.
if it’s 21.. then i may have a chance.
just need to know which one it is for immigration purposes, as the usual legal age is 18 for almost all situations (except alcohol.. that i know of)
Thank you in advance.

If you had left before you reached the age of 18 years and 6 months you would of had no problem as far as the overstay was concerned. After that time you get a 10 year ban.
