Is it logical and financially stable to become a lawyer?
I read a response to one of the questions flaming the law profession. Even though he attended a top law school, he earned mediocre grades and never got a job as an associate or anything.
This frightens me like no other. After law school, upon earning my first job, I would like to take over my parent’s home mortgage and expenses since they really need to retire and not worry about anything (I would live in my childhood home as well).
I read that law associates can make about 50K as starting salary. I would like to pursue corporate law or immigration law (I’m a freshman in college).
How is the job market for attorneys? Should I perhaps get an MBA after law school? Like I said, I’m only a college freshman, but I’m really worried and would not like to have scary surprises upon law school graduation.
Luckily, I don’t have any student loans for undergrad and probably not for law school.
It is depend. If you have a drive and lucky–you will get into good law firms and get paid tons of money. Otherwise, you will spend the rest of your life paying of the student loans. Good luck
