How much does a immigration lawyer cost?

I have two american girls, 3 and 1. Only income I get is child support. ( 800 per month). I do not Have a visa but I have a mexican passport till 2011. Been in US since 2002. Is it going to be more for this. Do not want to go back to mexico. Need help. One daughters father is threaten to go to immigration because he doesn’t want to pay me child support. None of the fathers would help me get legal.

I hate to say this and I wish there was something I could tell you but you cannot do much and if you do leave you will have to leave your daughters behind because they are U.S. citizen with citizen fathers and you cannot take them out of the country without their permission. If you do leave, maybe the fact that that they’re deabbeats could help you but you would need a really good lawyer and those are expensive.

Plus, no offense but Mexico is c***hole. You will not be able to provide for your girls and as much as it pains me to say this you should remember that at least in foster care your kids won’t starve like they would in Mexico. I’m really sorry but you will have to wait for immigration reform, marriage to a citizen who will sponsor you, or until your 3 year old turns 21.

Are you a lawyer? if yes please answer : Is it hard to become an immigration attorney?

I don’t like other type of law and I have noticed there aren’t much immigration attorneys in my area, why is that?
I MEANT AFTER LAW SCHOOL AND PASSING THE BAR

The key to getting into the type of law you want to practice is getting an internship in the area of law you wish to practice. In order to do that, take classes that will be relevant to immigration law, including international law and tax classes. Even if there aren’t a lot in your area, try to find internships in other cities (if you can afford to travel there for the summer). Then, start your own firm when you pass the bar! Or, take the bar in a state that does a lot of immigration work, like California, Florida or Texas. Best of luck!
