Im getting married next month at City hall And yes it will actually be a real marriage. I am an illegal immigrant here in the US who got into this country with a visa that’s now expired, I was Always very curious how long would my process to get take and would it take long just Because 1. I have no Green card or anything that would let me work,Drive legally . Also would it be best to Hire an immigration Lawyer for this or just go to friends who have been through it all and now are successful citizens?

I would hire a lawyer. You’ll need to file paperwork and prove also that your marriage is not just to obtain a green card if you plan on staying in the US with your spouse.
